The most wonderful time of the year

I have small kids. Perhaps you can tell what we’ve been listening to lately. While I do love Bing Crosby my patience with repetition is not endless. And apparently I’ve become obsessed with rewriting old lyrics to suit the times and save myself from going crazy. I apologize in advance.

Covid Hell

Dashing through the stores
With no mask on my face
It is such a chore
Watching all the ways

The masked faces tell
Me, that you’d like to smite
My sorry —- right off the earth for
Standing for what’s right

Oh, Covid hell, Covid hell
Breathing all the way
Oh, what fun it isn’t to stride
the ma-asked crowd today-ay

Covid hell, Covid hell
Breathing all the way
Oh, what fun it isn’t to stride
the ma-asked crowd today

A friend or two I know
They cannot mask they’ve tried. But masking’s a no go, when it’s daily suicide.

Where did compassion go
Or free-eedom of thought
We’ve got into a rutted row
Of judging without cause

Oh, Covid hell, Covid hell
Breathing all the way
Oh, what fun it isn’t to stride
The ma-asked crowd today-ay

Covid hell, Covid hell
Breathing all the way
Oh, what fun it isn’t to stride
The ma-asked crowd today.

Let ’em close! Let ’em close! Let ’em close!

Oh, the Covid news cast is frightful,
Small biz is so unin-flu-en-tial.
And since we’re too afraid to go
Let ’em close! Let ’em close! Let ’em close!

The economy show signs of stopping,
And of course we won’t do nothing.
Cuz the fear factor’s overblown,
Let ’em close! Let ’em close! Let ’em close!

When we finally wake up,
How we’ll hate to see what’s been done!
But just use Wally’s pick up
Who cares if businesses close!

Oh, the Governor here is frightful,
His man-dates aren’t so insightful.
Since we don’t think for ourselves,
Let ’em close! Let ’em close! Let ’em close!

It doesn’t show signs of slowing,
And I’m ‘fraid it’s only growing,
Since the curfew clos-es bar doors
Let ’em close! Let ’em close! Let ’em close!

When the do-ors do close out right.
How we’ll hate having no sma-all stores
But if we’d really start to fight,
They couldn’t close our town squares.

Oh the state is slowly dying,
And my dear, we’re still denying.
But, as long as we hide at home,
Let ’em close! Let ’em close! Let ’em close!

It‘s Beginning To Look Like Communism’s for Christmas

It’s beginning to look like Communism’s for Christmas
Everywhere you go;

Take a look a look at Virgin Mary, wearing a mask again

The chinese kind that viruses go thru

It’s beginning to look like Communism’s for Christmas
Masks in every store
But the saddest sight to see is the mask that will be
On your own child.

A pair of health officers with pistols that shoot
Is the wish of Joel and Dirk;
Kids that can’t talk or go for a walk
Is the hope of Janelle and Kirsten;
And all Doug’s reps can hardly wait to legislate again.

It’s beginning to look Communism’s for Christmas
Everywhere you go;
There’s a mask ad on every phone, really they’re every where,
The government kind paid for with tax dollars.

It’s beginning to look like Communism’s for Christmas;
Soon the trials will start,
And the thing that will make it stick is the for-orced va-ac-cine
Right within your arm

It’s beginning to look like Communism’s for Christmas
Signs on every door
But the saddest sight to see is the sign that will be
On your own front door.
Oh it’s Communism for Christmas for sure.
